The IPR Valve In Your Powerstroke Is Responsible For Controlling The Pressure For The High-Pressure Oil System. The IPR Commands The High Pressure Oil Pump That Fires The Injectors. The IPR (Injection Pressure Regulator) Is Located On The High Pressure Oil Pump. Because Of The High Pressures They Are Responsible For Controlling, The IPR Valve O-Rings Are A Common Failure Point. This Can Result In Low HPOP Related Oil Pressure Symptoms As Poor Idle, Stalling, And Even A No-Start Condition. While There Are Other Potential Causes, Such As A Failed IPR Valve. The O-Rings Themselves Are Often The Faulty Part And Are Much Less Expensive To Replace. The IPR Valve Screen Is Another Common Failure Point. The Screen May Become Plugged With Debris And Restrict The Flow Of The High Pressure Oil System. A torn screen will allow debris to enter the IPR valve which may damage the valve.
